Trust is the whole product. ArtGuideIndia exists to explain India's arts, culture and heritage in one voice people can rely on, so our core commitments come before everything else.
Accurate facts
We check names, dates, figures and claims before we publish, and we prefer primary sources: archives, institutions, official records and the people involved. We say plainly when something is disputed or when we could not confirm it.
Credited sources
- Every image carries a credit, and a caption that says what it shows.
- We name our sources and link to them where we can.
- We publish only images and text we have the right to use. We never present someone else's work as ours.
Fairness to artists
We describe artists', artisans' and institutions' work and words accurately, and in context. Where a piece makes a claim about a named person or organisation, we give them the chance to respond.
No paid content presented as editorial
Nothing sponsored is ever published as journalism. We do not sell coverage, and no one can pay to have their work reported, explained or featured. On social media, none of our posts are sponsored.
Guides and partners
Our guides are made with heritage sites, museums, craft clusters and other institutions, who help with access and information. We label these partnerships clearly. A partner does not pay for a guide and does not control what it says.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. A correction note is added to the top of the piece and describes what changed, so readers can see it clearly. If you spot an error, tell our editorial desk or write directly to connect@artguideindia.com with the link to the piece.
Independence
ArtGuideIndia is an initiative of Curaty Private Limited (Startup India recognised, WIFPA registered). We aim for an informed, warm voice: never elitist, never touristy. Our editorial choices are made solely on what matters to readers and to the culture we cover.
